Sumner County Pre-Kindergarten

港彩开奖结果 offers two pre-kindergarten programs:

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten is a free Pre-K, located at six elementary schools. It is funded through a state grant as well as district funds. It is designed for students who will be four, on or before 8/15 for the current school year, who also meet the income requirements. Priority goes to students and families that demonstrate a financial need based on the Department of Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines. It is very rare for students who do not meet the income requirements or who won't be four by the cutoff, to be added to the program.

Registration:

All registration will be handled through the school you have been offered a spot. Please refer to the district enrollment page for more information on that process. Specific questions regarding registration should be directed to your school. Schools have been given a list of students who have been offered a spot, if you are not on that list you will not be permitted to register.

Developmental Pre-Kindergarten

Developmental Pre-Kindergarten is located at twelve (12) elementary schools working with children with significant developmental delays or disabilities that impact their ability to learn. These children have been assessed and placed by an Individualized Education Plan team. Contact the if you have concerns with your child's development. There is a fee-based typical peer program within the Developmental Pre-K classroom for children to serve as language and social models who do not have any developmental concerns. The typical peer program has limited spots available.

  • - CDC鈥檚 developmental milestone checklists are communication tools intended to encourage ongoing conversations between families and professionals. The checklists also help identify the need for additional screening (between universal screening ages, as needed) when there is a potential developmental concern. Milestones are just one part of these communication tools. The milestone checklists also include

      • Open-ended questions to address concerns that milestones alone may not capture,

      • Reminders for developmental screening,

      • Information about how to connect with early intervention, and

      • Tips to help caregivers promote child development.

  • The Typical Peer Application Window for the School Year 2024 - 2025 will open in January 2024. You will be able to find the link here once it has been posted. We will post more informatoin about updates and changes to our Typical Peer program, application, and screening process in Decemeber 2023.

Registration:

All registration will be handled through the school your child will attend. Please refer to the district enrollment page for more information on that process as well as your school's website for evening registration information. Specific questions regarding registration should be directed to your school.
